Last updated: 26/08/2025
Welcome to Edge — an application dedicated to men’s sexual and emotional well-being. We are committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring a confidential, respectful space in compliance with the GDPR.
1. Who are we?
Edge is operated by Rachael Hibbert, a sole trader registered in France (SIRET: 90301554300015).
2. Status & Evolution
This policy is an initial version and may evolve as the application and legal structure develop. Any major changes will be communicated to users.
3. Data Protection Officer (DPO)
At this time, Edge has not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as this is not required given the current size and nature of the activity.
For any questions regarding data protection, contact: rachael@edgeapp.io
4. Data Collected
We collect only the data strictly necessary to provide and improve the service:
First name or pseudonym (optional)
Email address (optional)
Responses to quizzes and chat
Technical data (device, version, crash reports)
Some information may be sensitive (sexual preferences, emotional well-being) and is processed only with your explicit consent, collected at registration or before any such data is collected, via a dedicated checkbox.
You can withdraw this consent at any time in the app settings.
5. Use of Data
Your data is used to:
Personalize your experience and tailor the content offered,
Improve the quality, relevance, and security of the service (for example, by analyzing interactions in an aggregated and anonymized way to detect malfunctions, improve the AI, or optimize features),
Respond to your support or contact requests,
Fulfill our legal obligations.
5b. Legal bases for processing
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), each processing activity relies on a specific legal basis:
Explicit consent → processing of sensitive data (quiz answers, chat content), strictly for personalizing the experience.
Performance of a contract → managing subscriptions, creating, and maintaining the user account.
Legal obligation → storing billing and payment data (tax and accounting compliance).
Legitimate interest → technical analysis (crash data, minimized usage statistics) to ensure security, improvement, and smooth functioning of the app. You may object to this processing at any time (see “Your rights”).
5c. Consent for sensitive data
During registration, you will be asked to explicitly confirm your consent for the processing of certain sensitive data, notably related to sexuality and emotional well-being. Without this active consent, such data will not be collected or processed. Consent may be withdrawn at any time in the app settings.
5d. Marketing communications
We only send commercial or marketing communications (e.g., newsletters) to users who have explicitly opted in during registration or through a dedicated form. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in each message.
6. Use of AI
Interactions in the app are powered by Google Gemini AI, which runs on Google Cloud’s secure, GDPR-compliant infrastructure. Gemini benefits from internationally recognized certifications such as ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, SOC 2/3, and ISO/IEC 42001, the world’s first standard for responsible AI management.
Personal data processed by Gemini is primarily hosted in EU data centers, ensuring the protection of your information. Google applies Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission for any transfers outside the EU.
Data may be temporarily retained (up to 72 hours) strictly for service provision and improvement, under GDPR-compliant controls.
Some features involve profiling (e.g., personalized content). This profiling has no legal or significant effect on you and remains limited to adapting the user experience.
7. Data Transfers Outside the EU
By default, data is stored within the EU. If transfers outside the EU are necessary, they will be subject to appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses), and you will be informed.
7b. International transfers
Some of our providers (notably Google/Gemini and Rey) may process data outside the European Economic Area, particularly in the United States.
In such cases, Edge applies the protection mechanisms required by the European Commission, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), ensuring an adequate level of protection for your personal data.
8. Subcontractors
We work with service providers such as:
Hostinger (hosting)
RevenueCat (subscription management)
Stripe (payments)
Google / Gemini (AI infrastructure)
Google Cloud, including Gemini, operates under a GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreement incorporating SCCs. Google maintains rigorous international certifications including ISO 27001, 27017, 27018, SOC 2/3, and ISO/IEC 42001 (responsible AI management), ensuring security and confidentiality.
